We live in an overstimulated society with notifications, emails, calls and endless inputs that bombard our brain.

The media focus of social networks rests on our heads and creates unhealthy competition.

The so-called ‘winners’ are extolled and the ‘losers’ denigrated.

This causes a fear of failure, so we are more aware of not making mistakes than of risking and fighting for what we want.

Here I tell you how to avoid failure.

What is failure?

The RAE defines it as “Failure, adverse result of a company or business”.

While this definition is valid, it is also short-sighted.

Failure has a lot to do with the expectations we have.

Therefore, we could define failure as the discomfort of obtaining a result far below the expectations that we have created.

consequences of failure

Failure has consequences. And many times you don’t even try because you know what comes after if you don’t achieve your goals.

When you fail, feelings invade you and unpleasant situations are created.

These are the consequences of failure:

  • Discouragement: when you fail you have no desire for anything. You feel apathy and disappointment.
  • Frustration: one of the most complex feelings to deal with. Accept and continue.
  • Blocking: the fact of failing leads you to not want to repeat the experience. You don’t know how to deal with the situation.
  • Teasing: society is cruel. Reward great fanfare and refuse effort and poor results.
  • Ruin: In business, failure means losing money.

As you can see, suffering is the main consequence of failure. People don’t like to suffer, so we run away in terror.

Now I tell you how you can avoid failure and enjoy your successes.

How to avoid failure

Here are the 7 steps to avoid failure:

1. Have a purpose

Knowing what your purpose is will go a long way in helping you stay motivated and off to a good start.

As Stephen Covey reflects in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, starting with the end in mind is the key to success.

If you don’t know what your purpose is, find out as soon as possible.

2. Continuously train

Training is essential, both in life and in business.

In a rapidly changing world, staying on top of the latest trends is vital to success.

Some sectors such as marketing and technology require permanent training.

3. Create your irresistible offer

The entrepreneur has a unique proposal to offer to the market.

The irresistible offer is the gateway to your products and services and the one that makes you stand out from the competition.

In the previous link you have more information about it.

4. Define an action plan

Once you are clear about what you want to achieve, it is time to plan what you are going to do to achieve it.

Prepare a detailed plan of intermediate goals that lead you to your purpose. Subdivide them, put dates on them and keep track of the process.

Tools like Excel, Google Sheets or Trello can help you a lot.

5. Take action

You already have a beautiful document with the roadmap to follow.

And now that? Putting it in writing is important but without action there are no results.

Starts now. It will not be perfect but it will be the beginning of your success.

6. Plan your day

Now that you have finally started your online business, you have to create routines and know how to set mini-goals in your day to day.

This is where daily planning becomes especially important. What are you going to do today? What are you going to do tomorrow?

In life there is always a lot to do so it is essential to know the priorities.

To plan, I recommend Google Calendar and retroplanning.

7. Be patient

Entrepreneurs are people of action. We want everything now.

The pace of business and life is not what we would like. Things take time.

Cultivating patience is one of the best investments of your time you can make. You will thank me 🙂
